T&MEC provides comprehensive services for the repair and modernization of various thermal equipment, as well as the automation of industrial furnaces that use natural energy or electricity.
Furnace repair or modernization processes may involve replacing old lining with more efficient materials, installing new silicon carbide or wire heaters. It is also possible to partially or completely replace thermal process control systems, which allows for full automation of the heat treatment process. At the same time, T&MEC specialists can always offer the best solution for furnace repair or reconstruction.
Works on modernization of the furnace lining
Lining, which provides thermal insulation of an industrial electric furnace, can be considered one of the most important components of the thermal unit. It is the quality of the lining, as well as the materials used for it, that largely affect the durability of the furnace and its performance. The use of modern heat-insulating materials in the lining makes it possible to significantly reduce the power consumption of an electric furnace, reduce its weight and speed up the process of reaching the desired temperature. Taken together, this makes it possible to significantly reduce long-term production costs.
T&MEC offers the possibility of replacing the old lining with modern lightweight fiber materials that have impressive thermal insulation and refractory properties.
The basis of the innovative material is mullite silica fibers, which consist of SiO2 and Al2O3 oxides in equal proportions. This lining, with a density of 250-380 kilograms/m3 and thermal conductivity of 0.22-0.18 Watt/(m*K), has a rather impressive resistance to mechanical stress and the ability to withstand temperature effects up to 1450 degrees without destructive consequences.
The layered interwoven fiber structure, as well as a well-developed network of open fine pores, provides higher thermal insulation performance than other materials that are also based on mullite silica fibers. The new material is successfully used in both electric and gas furnaces, as well as in other types of thermal equipment.
Possibilities for energy recovery
When performing modernization operations of the heating unit, it is worth paying attention to energy recovery – the reuse of energy. The installation and use of recuperators will save about 15% of the gas consumed.
The air heated in the recuperative devices can be fed to the furnace burners, heated in the room, used to dry raw materials or finished products, or sent to a gas turbine plant to generate electricity.
Automation of the furnace operation
Computerization, which involves the complete transfer of an industrial heating furnace to an automatic mode, makes it possible to significantly improve the quality of the products manufactured by the enterprise, as well as significantly reduce energy consumption. This is achieved due to a significant increase in the level of control efficiency and the ability to control almost all parameters of the heating equipment, the possibility of zone temperature control in the chamber in the range of several degrees.
Features of the modernization of the thermal unit control system
T&MEC is also engaged in the development and implementation of various systems for the automation of heat treatment processes.
We offer both local automation solutions, which involve the installation of an own control unit that is not connected to other equipment, and general complexes that control the functioning of the entire production line.
The local model is represented by a separate control cabinet. It is used for installation of:
- one or more microprocessors;
- a switching and control unit that controls the actuators, including heating elements; an operating panel;
- visual alarm components;
- regulating, shut-off and protective valves directly involved in ensuring the automatic execution of temperature treatment processes;
- The control cabinet is equipped with locks that prevent unauthorized access to the production process control.
The extensive experience and high qualification of T&MEC employees, the use of innovative technologies and materials, and the need to restore damaged or destroyed lining, allows us to reconstruct and modernize furnaces and thermal equipment of any complexity, with consistently high results.
All work on the restoration and modernization of thermal equipment involves the preparation of all the necessary project documentation, the manufacture of the elements required for furnace repair, the performance of heat installation and commissioning work, as well as technological tests.
Upon completion of all work, training activities are mandatory to prepare staff to work with new and modernized equipment.
